Vaccinations for cats & dogs in Sharjah

Protect your pet: book a vaccine.

Vaccinations for cats and dogs

Customized vaccination protocols that protect your pet against common and serious diseases, tailored to their age and lifestyle.

Core vaccines are recommended for every cat and dog. Others depend on how your pet lives, for example whether they go outdoors, meet other animals or travel. Your vet will tell you which ones make sense for your pet.

We keep track of boosters so you never miss one, and deworming can be done in the same visit.

What's included

  • Puppy and kitten vaccine courses
  • Annual boosters
  • Rabies vaccination
  • Deworming
  • Health check before every vaccine
  • Vaccination book updated

Vaccines for cats and dogs

Dogs

Usually given together as one combined injection (often called DHPP).

Core vaccines: recommended for every dog

  • Parvovirus: Severe vomiting and bloody diarrhoea. Very contagious and especially dangerous for puppies.
  • Distemper: Attacks the lungs, gut and nervous system. Often fatal.
  • Infectious hepatitis (adenovirus): Damages the liver, kidneys and eyes.
  • Rabies: Always fatal once symptoms start and can spread to people. Needed for travel.

Depending on lifestyle

  • Parainfluenza: One of the viruses behind kennel cough. Often included in the combined injection.
  • Kennel cough (Bordetella): For dogs that meet other dogs: boarding, daycare, grooming or parks.
  • Leptospirosis: Bacteria spread through rat urine and standing water. Harms the liver and kidneys and can infect people.

Cats

Usually given together as one combined injection (often called FVRCP or tricat).

Core vaccines: recommended for every cat

  • Panleukopenia (feline parvovirus): Severe vomiting and diarrhoea, and wipes out white blood cells. Often fatal in kittens.
  • Herpesvirus (cat flu): Sneezing, runny eyes and eye ulcers. Cats can carry it for life.
  • Calicivirus (cat flu): Mouth ulcers, fever and breathing problems.
  • Rabies: Always fatal once symptoms start and can spread to people. Needed for travel.

Depending on lifestyle

  • Feline leukaemia (FeLV): For cats that go outdoors or live with other cats. Weakens the immune system. A quick test is done first.

Vaccinations: common questions

When should my puppy or kitten start vaccinations?

Most puppies and kittens have their first vaccines at around 6 to 8 weeks old, then boosters every 3 to 4 weeks until about 16 weeks. We'll set the exact schedule for your pet at the first visit.

How often does an adult pet need vaccines?

After the first course and the one-year booster, some vaccines are given every year and others less often. We'll tell you which ones are due at each visit and note the next date in the vaccination book.

Does my indoor cat need vaccines?

Yes. Indoor cats can still catch viruses carried in on shoes and clothes, and rabies vaccination is still recommended. Their plan may be simpler than an outdoor cat's.

Are there side effects after a vaccine?

Some pets are a little sleepy or sore for a day, which is normal. Call us straight away if you notice facial swelling, repeated vomiting or difficulty breathing.
